Bard Job Change

Quest giver: Wandering Bard Comodo
Description

The Bard job change is the second branch for male Archers. In Comodo you'll meet the wandering bard Lalo: he sings for you, asks for a flower, sends you north to Lutie to befriend the snowman Jack Frost, and finally puts you through a singing test. Perform it flawlessly and you become a Bard. You need a male Archer character at Job Level 40 or higher.

Walkthrough
  1. Make sure you're a male Archer at Job Level 40 or higher — only such a character can become a Bard.
  2. Find the Wandering Bard (Lalo) in Comodo (226, 123) and ask him to sing for you — he performs 'Drums of War'.
  3. Praise the song; a pleased Lalo agrees to teach you and asks you to bring him one genuine flower.
  4. Bring Lalo one living, fragrant flower — a Singing Flower, Hinalle, Aloe, Ment, Izidor, Illusion Flower, Witherless Rose or Frozen Rose all work (a plain Flower, bouquets and fake flowers are refused).
  5. Lalo takes the flower and sends you to the snowy town of Lutie to befriend the snowman Jack Frost.
  6. In Lutie, talk to Jack Frost and the townsfolk several times until the snowman becomes your friend; he gives you a present.
  7. Return to Lalo in Comodo for the singing test: he sings line by line and you must repeat each line exactly (type the text with no mistakes).
  8. If you slip up, Lalo asks you to try again; pass the test cleanly on a single run to become a Bard.
  9. Optionally bring 60 identical trunks (Trunk / Barren, Solid or Fine-grained Trunk) and Lalo crafts you a musical instrument souvenir on top of the job change.
