Why bots are allowed on uaRO
uaRO is built on a simple principle: fair play with no pay-to-win. There are no cash-shop items that give an edge in combat, no paid rates, and no hidden boosts. Everything a player owns was earned by playing, not by paying. In this model, automating your grind stops being a cheat and becomes an ordinary tool: it gives no one unfair power, it only saves time. That is exactly why the server rules permit OpenKore and other bots.
The philosophy is straightforward: your character still levels through the same formulas and 1x rates as everyone else. The bot just presses the keys for you while you are at work or studying. Progress stays honest, because the market and drops are identical for all.
What OpenKore is
OpenKore is a third-party, open-source client bot for Ragnarok Online. It connects to the server in place of the official client and performs actions automatically: it walks, fights monsters, picks up loot, heals, and returns to town to repair and sell. It is driven by text configuration files, so you describe your character's behaviour through rules rather than controlling it by hand.
OpenKore has been developed by its community for many years and is not affiliated with our server — it is a general-purpose tool. uaRO simply chooses not to forbid its use.
General setup steps
The following is only a guideline, without specific versions or ready-made configs: the details depend on your OpenKore build and the current server parameters, which you will find in the up-to-date uaRO community instructions.
- Download OpenKore from the project's official source and unpack it into its own folder.
- In config.txt, set the connection parameters for the uaRO server and your in-game login details.
- Check the server list tables — they must match uaRO's current settings.
- Configure basic behaviour: which monsters to attack, the route to take, and the conditions for healing and returning to town.
- If needed, enable plugins, including macro, to describe more advanced scenarios — using skills, reacting to events, and so on.
- Start the bot and watch it for a few minutes to confirm it behaves correctly before leaving it unattended.
Responsibility and limits
Permission to use bots does not cancel the server's general rules. Automation is a privilege that is easy to lose if abused at others' expense.
- Do not use bugs, exploits, or movement and drop glitches — that is a separate violation, whether a bot does it or you do it by hand.
- Do not disturb other players: do not block passages, do not monopolise popular spots, and do not steal mobs with aggressive settings.
- Follow the rules for chat and trading conduct — a bot is no excuse for spam or scams.
- Keep an eye on your bot: the account owner is responsible for everything it does.
Benefits for busy players
1x rates mean a long, steady road to 99/50, and not everyone has hours to spare each day. OpenKore makes that pace accessible: your character farms base experience and zeny while you are busy, so you can return to the more interesting content — instances, MVPs, PvP, crafting, and trading.
It also lowers the barrier for newcomers: you can calmly learn the server's mechanics while the bot handles the routine grind. The key thing to remember is that a bot complements the game — it does not fully replace it.
